One killed in a train collision at Ogbete main market Enugu

It was reported on Tuesday 25th October 2016 of the ugly incident which claimed the life of a man and left many people injured. The accident occurred as a train which said to be coming from Port Harcourt ran into a crossroad, without the usual blaring of horn in a given distance away from the road, this was done so as to temporarily clear the road of vehicles and traders around its axis. But unfortunately a man whom witnesses referred to as 'Ikechukwu' was killed as a result of the collision, several people sustained serious injuries, and many also counted their losses.

An eye witness a trader at Ogbete main market Mr Lawrence Eze alleged that "the train man always drives recklessly and he does not like to sound his horn, until he is close to the level crossing". Many also shared their testimonies of how God saved their lives and protected them from being a victim of the terrible accident.

The Police Public Relation officer Enugu state command Mr  Ebere Amarizu confirmed the incident, and described the accident as "horrible" and wondered why the train did not blow its horn.
